2022 MLB Postseason: Who Will The Dodgers Play In NLDS?

The 2022 MLB postseason field is fully set. The Los Angeles Dodgers are the top seed in the National League. They will play the winner of the Wild Card Series between the New York Mets and San Diego Padres. Atlanta Braves are second seed and will face the St. Louis Cardinals. The Philadelphia Phillies will be played against the third seed. It's the first time the teams from the American League and National Leagues have been seeded.

The NL Wild Card Series between the Mets and Padres begins on Friday. The Dodgers could know their NLDS opponent by Oct. 8 at the earliest or the next day at the latest. Game 1 of the NL Division Series is scheduled for Tuesday, Oct 11 at Dodger Stadium.

The Mets finished third in the NL with a +159 run differential. The Dodgers finished their season series 3-4 against the Mets. The teams were essentially even with 24 runs scored by L.A. and 25 by New York.

Dodgers won 15 of the 19 games against the Padres this season. They outscored San Diego 109-47 during the regular season series. The Padres are sixth in run differential among NL teams this year with a +52 mark.
