2022 Season Awards for Tennessee Football: MVP, surprises and more. Tennessee’s magical 2022 season ran out of steam at the very end, but what a ride it was. Clint Eiland and I will look back on some of the highs and lows, and look at our preseason predictions to see how they shook out.

Hendon Hooker was named the offensive MVP for the Tennessee football team. He led the team to a record-breaking season. He is the best quarterback in the country. The team will discuss his replacement next season, but it might take a couple seasons to do that.

Clint has selected the MVP for Tennessee Football. Aaron Beasley was an integral part of the team's defense. He was quick, decisive and packed a punch whenever he stepped on the field. Beaseley recorded one sack, but got double digit quarterback hurries. His total tackles went down, yet he increased his tackles for loss. Pro Football Focus gave Beasley higher marks than his counterparts.

Terry chose DT Omari Thomas as the MVP for the 22nd season of Tennessee Football. Thomas was a consistent performer for his team. Tamarion McDonald was an unknown player but played well. He made 50 tackles and defended six passes.

Dylan Sampson and Squirrel White are the main contenders for the MVP award. Sampon had 61 touches for 421 yards and six touchdowns, while White had 21 receptions for 373 yards. White broke through the log jam in the second string behind Jalin Hyatt, Bru McCoy, and Cedric Tillman.

Terry likes Squirrel White the most of all the freshman receivers at Tennessee. He might be the new Jalin Hyatt. He was the only freshman to earn the trust of the staff.

Bru McCoy had 48 receptions, 619 yards and three touchdowns for Tennessee this season. He had some of the best hands in the receiving unit. His performances against Florida and LSU should not go unheralded.

Bru McCoy was named MVP for the Tennessee football team. He started the season well and brought physicality and toughness to the team, especially against Pittsburgh. He's got a season left and with Tillman and Hyatt leaving, he could be in for big volume next year.

Jeremiah Crawford came to Tennessee last year as a reserve lineman and made zero starts. He played 135 snaps overall this season. Crawford started six of the last seven games and may have locked up the starting left tackle spot for next year. He signed as 3-star out of JUCO.

Terry picks Jalin Hyatt as the MVP for Tennessee Football. Heupel and Golesh found ways to make Hyatts the focal point of the offense. Hyott is set to be rewarded in April if he chooses to leave early.

Trevon Flowers and Jaylen McCollough were not what we expected coming into this year. They were supposed to be the most experienced part of the secondary. Tennessee was expecting more from their senior duo in the backend.

Tennessee has a lot of questions in the secondary. The Tim Banks/Willie Martinez rebuilding the team. Terry is interested in seeing if anyone can find the field early on. He thinks Tennessee needs talent.

Terry and Terry both picked the Offensive MVP, Breakout Player of the Year, Most Impactful Transfer and Most impactful Freshman. Clint and Trevor both predicted that Tennessee could win 10+ games in 2022. The ratings systems suggest that Terry's prediction was wrong. The defense improved greatly in some areas and declined in others.
