2022 Week 13 Preview: Tulsa Golden Hurricane @ Houston Cougars

Tulsa Golden Hurricane and Houston Cougars are playing their final home game before transitioning to the Big 12 on July 1. Houston is still alive for a return trip to AAC Championship Game, but they need help from Tulane and South Florida. Tulsa is playing its final game of 2022 due to missing out on bowl eligibility.

2022 season finale is a college football game between Tulsa Golden Hurricane and Houston Cougars. It's the final game for many seniors on the Golden Hurricanes roster. Running back Deneric Prince, wide receiver Keylon Stokes and strong safety Kendarin Ray are among them. The majority of Tulsa's starting defense is also of the senior variety. Tulsa starts a redshirt freshman quarterback in Braylon Braxton. Houston has the second worst red zone defense in the country.  Tulsa looks to capitalize on any opportunities it may get inside the Houston 20-yard line.

Houston Cougars have won five of six games this season. The team's recent offensive dominance is due to quarterback Clayton Tune. Matthew Golden is turning heads lately. Houston's defense has been shaky recently. Tulsa Golden Hurricane is a team that has a winning record. Houston allowed 77 points and nine passing touchdowns to SMU and 486 passing yards to Temple. It's the first time in November that the team has allowed less than 20 points per game. They were the 2021 AAC runner-up. Their defense was the strength of the program. This year, it's not.

Houston's offense is explosive and the Cougars have been eclipsing the 40-point threshold in four of their last five games. Tulsa's passing offense has been limited with Braylon Braxton and Davis Brin. Houston's defense will be tasked with slowing down Tulsa.
