2023 Baylor Bears win total betting strategy: Dave Aranda's team hoping for return to conference-winning form in Big 12

How about adding Dr. Phil to the coaching staff? That possibility might have crossed the mind of Dave Aranda, who has seen his Baylor teams display some odd tendencies in his first three years on the job. Two rather unremarkable campaigns (including a difficult 2020 pandemic term) have been sandwiched around a wildly-successful 2021 that saw the Bears win the Big 12 crown and then dump Lane Kiffin's Ole Miss in the Sugar Bowl. That was hardly the scenario from a season ago, when the Baylor campaign instead ended with a whimper, losing four straight to close the season, including a lackluster showing in the Armed Forces Bowl when Air Force inflicted sixty minutes of punishment in Fort Worth.

Aranda, however, still remains almost as popular as Dr. Pepper in Waco, having spurned interest from potential suitors, reportedly including USC two years ago before the Trojans shifted their attention to Oklahoma's Lincoln Riley instead. Aranda apparently likes Waco, and, for the time being, Waco still likes him...

Bruce Marshall's full breakdown of Baylor's 2023 outlook, which includes how he's playing their win total, can be found below as part of SportsLine's preview of the Big 12 season.
