The 2023 DailyFaceoff Fantasy Hockey Projections has projected stats for over 650 skaters and goalies. The Fantasy hockey Team Previews have all the projections for that team and mini-bios for all relevant skater and goalie.
Ovechkin scored 50 goals and 40 assists for the first time since 2009-10. He is currently being drafted in ADP – 12.9. Ovechyk is a good bet to score at least 48 goals for 11th time in his 17-year career.
John Carlson finished his career with his highest goals and points total in 2021-22. He finished above 70 points for the third time in four seasons. Carlson is an elite fantasy prospect. He is one of the few defensemen who projects for 15-plus goals, 70-+ points.
Evgeny Kuznetsov is a consistent scorer but his fantasy production is capped around 80 points. He has collected the 31st most points (314) and 41st power-play points in the last five NHL seasons.
T.J. Oshie missed 38 games last season due to illness and injury. He registered his lowest point-per-game totals in any season of his 14-year career. His 11 goals were the second worst among those seasons.
Dylan Strome joins the Washington Capitals on a one-year, $3.5 million bridge contract. Stromer played for the Chicago Blackhawks in 2021-22 and ranked second in goals and fourth in points.
Connor Brown joined the Washington Capitals after three productive seasons in Ottawa. His 2021-22 season was one of his least successful years as he scored ten goals. He played 20:03 TOI/GP, which was 23rd highest among all forwards.
Anthony Mantha had shoulder surgery in 2021 and played just 37 games. He played 9 goals and 14 assists in 37 appearances. In 2022-23, he should play a top-6 role and is opening camp on a line with Ovechkin and Kuznetsov.
Conor Sheary enjoyed his most productive season since 2016-17 with Washington in 2021-22. He finished fourth in goals and fifth in points across the entire Capitals roster. Shery plays a low 15:17 TOI nightly and holds little fantasy value outside of a weekly streaming option.
Kuemper has signed a five-year, $26.25M contract with the Washington Capitals. He won 37 games last season for the Colorado Avalanche and was a key player in their Stanley Cup victory. Kuempe is a low-end No.1/high-ending No-2 fantasy option.
