2023 Preakness Stakes: Updated odds on the morning of the race

It’s Preakness Day in Baltimore!

Pimlico Race Course is all set to host the second leg of the Triple Crown on Saturday evening with the Run for the Black-Eyed Susan set to post at a 7:01 p.m. ET.

Kentucky Derby winner Mage (8-5) remains the favorite on the morning of the race, but those odds are likely to fluctuate over the next few hours as more bets start rolling in. Mage is the only Derby entrant in the field at the Preakness this year — which hasn’t happened since Citation in 1948.

It’s also the smallest field for the Preakness since 1986 as only seven horses are set to race after the Friday scratch of First Mission. All eyes will also be on trainer Bob Baffert, who is back at a Triple Crown event for the first time since 2021 after a doping scandal at the Kentucky Derby with Medina Spirit.

If Baffert’s entrant, National Treasure, wins the Preakness he’ll hold the record with eight wins at the famed event.

Here’s a look at the full odds for the 148th Preakness as race day gets underway.
