An overpowering combination of American star power and young talent laid the smackdown in the 2021 edition, with a 19-9 domination of Team Europe being the largest margin of victory in a Ryder Cup dating back to 1975.

However, the U.S. has historically struggled to win away from home and has actually gone winless overseas since 1993. That’s the challenge awaiting them in 2023, as another surely stacked lineup heads to Marco Simone Golf and Country Club in Italy.

We break it all down in our full 2023 Ryder Cup odds below.

The Ryder Cup is still a handful of months away, meaning teams have yet to be decided and spots are still very much up for grabs. However, the Americans have opened up as -188 favorites (now -175) to win outright with the expectation that the 2023 lineup will look rather similar to the crew that dominated last time out.

Barring injury or a wild falloff, stars like Scottie Scheffler, Patrick Cantlay, Justin Thomas, Jordan Spieth, and Xander Schauffele should all be returning this fall, with the potential for guys like Max Homa or Cameron Young to also make their debuts.

As the odds suggest, that squad will cause problems for a European team that is very much in transition outside of Jon Rahm and Rory McIlroy. Mainstays such as Sergio Garcia, Ian Poulter, and Lee Westwood are on their way out, leaving the new generation (i.e. Viktor Hovland, Matt Fitzpatrick) with big shoes to fill.

With that said, Europe’s success at home is well-documented (6-0 in Europe since 1993), creating what should be a much more competitive matchup relative to what we saw at Whistling Straits.
