Below, we analyze the 2023 betting markets for South Carolina and make a few predictions, including a Gamecocks win total pick.
2023 South Carolina win total prop: Under 6.5 wins (-178 or better)
South Carolina is building a solid program under Beamer, son of legendary Virginia Tech coach Frank Beamer. In two seasons, he has winning records in each and appearances in two bowl games.
The Gamecocks had two of the season’s biggest upsets in back-to-back weeks last November.
South Carolina ended No. 5 Tennessee’s hopes for a College Football Playoff spot with a 63-38 victory, and then came back a week later and upset No. 7 Clemson on the road, 31-30.
Playing in the SEC can be brutal. Winning seven games to cover the Over in the SEC is not easy.
The Gamecocks have the country’s 25th most difficult schedule. This season, South Carolina plays at two-time defending national champion Georgia, Tennessee, Missouri and Texas A&M, and stealing any road victory won’t be easy.
South Carolina has a challenging opener against North Carolina at neutral-site Charlotte. A win over the No. 20 Tar Heels could get their season off to a roaring start.
The Gamecocks have a favorable home schedule — Furman, Mississippi State, Florida, Jacksonville State, Vanderbilt, Kentucky and Clemson. But giving South Carolina wins over Furman and Jacksonville State still leaves an uphill climb to seven wins.
South Carolina has one of the country’s most exciting quarterbacks in Spencer Rattler. The Gamecocks are looking for more consistency from Rattler, who threw for 3,026 yards and 18 touchdowns -- but also 12 interceptions.

South Carolina’s current odds to win the Southeastern Conference championship is +10000, the ninth-best odds.
A South Carolina bet on winning the SEC or the national championship is an extreme long shot and you should proceed accordingly. The Gamecocks joined the SEC in 1992 and have never won the conference championship.
