Spring training is in full swing around Major League Baseball, and this is the time of year when betting on MLB futures odds is at its peak at online sportsbooks such as DraftKings, Caesars, BetMGM and more.

While more bets are placed on 2024 World Series odds than anything else, there are plenty of other markets including AL and NL winner.

Below, we preview the top of the 2024 National League odds board and dig through some sportsbook data to offer you the most popular picks for the upcoming season, which include the Los Angeles Dodgers and Atlanta Braves.

MLB National League betting odds 2024: Dodgers, Braves favored above the rest

As we look at 2023 National League odds, there is a huge gap between the top two clubs and everyone else. The star-powered Los Angeles Dodgers are in a betting class all to themselves at just +180 to win the pennant, while Atlanta is second at a price that gets up to +350.

Using DraftKings Sportsbook MLB data through Feb. 20, these two teams are also the most popular bets to win the National League in both handle and number of total wagers. The Dodgers are receiving the largest share of the handle at 26% while getting a massive 54% of the total bets. The Braves, on the other hand, have 15% of the bets while accounting for 22% of the revenue so far.

Next we have the Philadelphia Phillies (+800) and the Chicago Cubs (+1700). Philly, on the heels of two deep playoff runs in a row, is a clear second behind the Braves in the NL East. They're seeing 8% of the wagers, good enough for third in the NL, while also getting 9% of the handle. The Cubs are seeing a higher handle at 14% on just 6% of the total wagers.

If you're looking down the board at National League long shot picks, the Cincinnati Reds (+2500) appear to be the most popular one with 9% of the handle and 6% of the bets to this point.

MLB National League odds: Los Angeles Dodgers (+170 or better)

The Dodgers are once again considered to boast baseball’s most complete roster, one made even more formidable with the additions of Yoshinobu Yamamoto and of course, Shohei Ohtani.

All eyes will be on how the two-way phenom’s internal elbow bracing procedure appears to be taking this spring, but manager Dave Roberts has stated he’s expecting Ohtani to DH right out of the gate.

Factoring in the additions of Tyler Glasnow, James Paxton and Teoscar Hernandez to an already fearsome group, there's no questioning the championship potential of this squad.

Atlanta Braves National League odds (+255 or better)

Like the Dodgers, the Braves’ postseason came to an alarming and shocking end. Atlanta has visions of atonement entering 2024, and as the odds indicate, are still considered one of the preeminent contenders in all of baseball.

Brian Snitker’s squad has virtually no turnover in its starting nine with the exception of of Jarred Kelenic, once considered baseball’s top prospect in the Mariners’ minor league system. While he’s certainly fallen short of expectations in the majors, a fresh start and elite protection around him could make all the difference.

On the pitching side, the arrival of Chris Sale could also pay major dividends if the once-dominant lefty can remain healthy.
