5 Best Soccer Bets for This Weekend

Iceman is back with his 5 best soccer bets for this weekends action. Currently with a 70% hit rate on the season, we will be focusing predominantly on games where teams still have something to play for in the Euro Leagues nearing their climax.

Both these teams still in the hunt for different levels of European football next season. Liverpool in 5th currently but with their sights firmly set on a Top 4 finish a point behind Man United, need the win here to keep the pressure on The Red Devils. On the back of 7 straight EPL wins they are in the form to do just that and having won their last 5 H2H’s with Villa, we can see why Liverpool are -210 on the Money Line.

Villa aren’t in their worst form, having made the race for 7th place an incredibly close one by beating Tottenham last time out. However, their last 3 away league games have seen them only score once and pick up 1 point, which does not bode well for The Villains trip to Anfield.

I like Liverpool here and was tempted to take them to score all 3 of the goals we will need at +154 as the -225 for them to score twice is a little short for my money here. Taking the safer option of 3+ match goals just incase Villa do get on the scoresheet early.

The penultimate game of the season pitches 1st v 3rd and both have a lot at stake going into this game at the Allianz Arena. Bayern in first are 1 point in front of Dortmund who travel to Augsburg on Sunday, and as such they control their own fate. A win here should all but see them crowned Champions of Germany for the 33rd time. 10 goals in their last 3 including 6 here last weekend mean they would be confident enough going into this game, not to mention they have not lost a competitive game v Leipzig since 2018.

Red Bull, looking to not only overturn that 11 game winless run since 2018, but also solidify their third place and entry to the Champions League group stages again next season, are only 1 point ahead of both Union Berlin & Freiburg so any slip could see them fall to 5th place and out of the UCL places completely.

The last 2 H2H’s in Munich have both had 5+ goals with Bayern scoring 3+ in both games. I expect a similar level of play from the Champions elect here on Saturday and I am hoping they attempt to put this game to bed in the first half. Bayern Team Total o2.5 at +126 is inviting, but the match goals play is again the safer bet and 4+ for double money is just lovely.

Charlotte have seemingly found the right formula at home recently, 5 MLS games without defeat and 2 US Open Cup victories at the Bank of America Stadium in the last 7, averaging 2 goals per game, has seen them move up to 7th in the Eastern Conference and given their supporters a real hope that the playoffs are a real possibility.

Nashville have also not lost in their last 7 games (W5 D2) scoring 13. Their away form is a little more spotty, coming up short versus both New York City FC and New England Revolution in their last 5, with their sole win coming in Orlando. That being said, they do still sit 3rd and will like their chances in what the books see as a very even game this weekend – Charlotte Money Line +140, with the Draw at +210 and Nashville +170.

I do think both teams score in this one (-158) but I also like one of them to split the difference in 3 and take the W, I just don’t know which. I think I would side with Charlotte given their home form (Team Total o1.5 is +126) but again, taking the 3+ match goals is just the sensible option given how close this one should be.

Bet – Match Goals o2.5 -118 FanDuel

The 3 leg best soccer bets parlay for the Saturday games above is +470 and I love that value for the 10 goals we need.

The stats for this one don’t really back up the bet, but hear me out. Ajaccio have already been relegated and have nothing to play for except what is left of any shred of pride – they were never expected to stay in Ligue 1 this season anyway, so the pride thing is also borderline irrelevant. Rennes sit 6th, just outside the European places, 1 point behind Lille and 6 behind Monaco with a game in hand – they absolutely want to be playing Europa League football again next season given their great showing in this seasons competition – so they will be wanting to ensure an easy 3 points here and avoid the potential banana skin.

Rennes away form is what scares me slightly – 3 losses on the bounce (albeit to slightly more potent sides than they face this weekend) with only 2 goals scored, while AC have kept clean sheets in their last 2 home games. Those stats don’t look ideal for me taking Rennes to score 2+ but that is what gives us great value. To keep perspective, Ajaccio did concede 3 at home to Auxerre (who are 16th) 3 games ago and Rennes did beat PSG 2-0 in Paris 4 games back so this bet isn’t quite as much of a leap as the recent form make it sound.

Bet – Rennes/Away Team Total o1.5 -140 FanDuel

This is really simple. City win. They are Champions. Chelsea are terrible and having their worst season in almost 30 years.

Chelsea conceded 3 at Arsenal a couple of games back and I expect City to treat them similarly here having just put Real Madrid to the sword 4-0 in midweek. Too complete the circle Chelsea lost 2-0 away to Madrid in the Quarter Final of the Champions League a month ago.

I don’t see a world in which Man City do not score multiple goals here. The question really is, how do we pull the value from the game. They are -410 on the Money Line and -330 to score 2+ with 3+ match goals -190. I also looked really hard at taking them to score in both halves at -122 but ultimately that bet would have lost in their last 2 home EPL games so I am pushing the button on City scoring 3+ goals at The Etihad.

That is something that they should have done 10 games in a row if Gundogan didn’t miss a penalty (or Haaland took it) v Leeds two weeks ago. As it is 9 in 10 isn’t bad…and with 39 goals scored in those last 10 home games including not only the prior mentioned Real Madrid (4), but also Arsenal (4), Bayern Munich (3) and Liverpool (4) I think Chelsea are the latest in a long line of high profile clubs to really see what this record breaking Manchester City side is all about.

Bet – Man City/Home Team Total o2.5 +112

The Sunday double is +263 and to be honest you could even stretch those an extra goal each and I absolutely love the value (+1370).

Adding that to the three legs from Saturday would give you a +1972 parlay.

Remember, these best soccer bets are meant to be taken as straight singles, but mixing and matching the ones where you see value and agree with the insight will give you those bigger odds parlays. Whichever way you dice them, best of luck this weekend.
