7th most memorable Bristol City game: Robins play out thriller at Premier League-bound Wolves

Bristol City drew 3-3 at Wolves in September 2017. The previous year Wolves had completed a £45m takeover and Nuno Espirito Santo was appointed as the new head coach. Bristol City had a successful season in 2017/18 with Bobby Reid and Joe Bryan flourishing. The Robins also won the Carabao Cup. Wolves spent a lot of money on players in the summer. They had Ruben Neves for £15m and Barry Douglas for £1m. Brede Assombalonga went to Middlesbrough for around £ 15m that summer too.

Jamie McAllister and Spirito Santo are critical of the game. They both completed their FA coaching licence course up in Scotland. Spiritos and Johnson played together on the course. Wolves knocked Bristol Rovers out of Carabao Cup seven days later. Wolves and Bristol City played out a memorable encounter at the turn of this year.
