A sublime Saturday at The Meadowlands

Arthur J. Cutler Memorial for free-for-all trotters was held at The Meadowlands last Saturday. The event raised $170,450 for the memorial to the late racing enthusiast Artie Cutler. Ecurie D DK (Infinitif) made his seasonal debut and set a new record for tro troting mile. There was also a live simulcast of The Preakness Stakes, broadcast from Baltimore's Pimlico Racecourse. Fans were cheering for New York Yankees and New Yorkers at FanDuel Sportsbook.

Primary Colors, Workin Ona Mystery, Red Right Hand and Jimmy Freight set the fastest miles of the year on the trot on Saturday. Bettors Donttell was one of four winners for the team of driver Yannick Gingras and trainer Ron Burke. Nicholas Beach paced his back half in a sensational :52.3 on his way to a 1:47 mile.

A total of $3.4 million was bet on the 13-race card at The Meadowlands on Saturday. The Gural Settlemoir Yarock Amateur Driving Club races have been a hit with bettors all meeting long. Last Friday the four GSY events took in handle totaling $935,798. The handle is higher than the handle of the entire program of any harness track in the country.

Linedrive Hanover won the $273,500 Charles Juravinski Memorial at Flamboro Downs on Sunday. Desperate Man finished second, Dean B Hanovers was third and Bulldog Hanvers came fourth.

The Camluck Classic takes place at Western Fair Raceway in London, Ontario, Canada on Friday (May 27) at 11:16 p.m. The field from the inside out is Poseidon Seelster, Twin B Tuffenuff, Tattoo Artist, Funatthebeach N, Jimmy Freight, Ocean Rock, American History and This Is The Plan.

Horseplay contest takes place every live racing night through Friday, August 5th. Participants will attempt to throw a numbered horse into the window of a moving car. One winner will be chosen at random and receive a $100 betting voucher. The grand prize drawing will take place on August, 5.

The Meadowlands is hosting a "Summer & Sports Swag Sweepstakes" night on Saturday (May 28th). The items those who enter the drawings have a chance to win are fire pits, seltzer coolers and pizza ovens. There will also be jerseys from sports figures such as David Ortiz, Pete Alonso, Chris Kreider and Derek Jeter.

The World Harness Handicapping Championship Final takes place at The Meadowlands on September 10th. There is a free WHHC Qualifier at the mile oval on Saturday, June 4th and it's free to enter.

The fourth annual "Wiener Dog Derby" takes place on Saturday, June 11 at The Meadowlands. There will be seven wiener dog dashes, with the final heading to the starting box at 9:30 p.m. The Derby is open to first 80 entrants by June 4.

The 154th running of The Belmont Stakes takes place on Saturday, June 11. The "Test of the Champion" is a one-mile-long marathon for 3-year-olds.

The Big M has a first-race post time of 6:20 p.m. Live racing from the track's pregame show starts at 5:47 p.,m., on Friday and Saturday.

Carolina Hurricanes take on New York Rangers in Game 5 of their second round NHL Playoff series. Puck drop is at 7:10 p.m. Thursday. The Canes are -152 to go up 3-2 in the series, which is tied at two games apiece.
