Story so far

A high-quality trio lead the way going into the final round of the Abu Dhabi Championship at Yas Links but Shane Lowry, Min Woo Lee and Francesco Molinari will have more than just their threeball partners to worry out about when they meet on the tee on Sunday morning.

The DP World Tour's first strokeplay tournament of 2023 is wide open heading into the final 18 holes with ten players, all of whom are Tour winners, within two shots of the leading group.

Those with confirmed links credentials have come to the fore in Abu Dhabi. Lowry and Molinari are Open champions while Lee, who was a 30-1 pre-tournament pick for Racing Post Sport's Steve Palmer, won the 2021 Scottish Open.

A condensed leaderboard also includes Guido Migliozzi, who was also advised by Racing Post Sport at 90-1. He is two shots adrift of the final group, who are set to tee off at 7.50am UK & Ireland time.

Leaderboard
-13 Francesco Molinari, Min Woo Lee, Shane Lowry-12 Grant Forrest, Sebastian Soderberg, Victor Perez-11 Guido Migliozzi, Adrian Meronk, Padraig Harrington, Antoine Rozner

-10 Alex Noren, Thorbjorn Olesen, Shubhankar Sharma, Richard Bland, Connor Syme

Best prices
100-30 S Lowry, 4-1 M W Lee, 5 Francesco Molinari, 9 V Perez, 18 A Rozner, A Meronk, 20 S Soderberg, 22 G Forrest, G Migliozzi, 25 P Harrington, 28 A Noren, 50 bar.

Final-round preview

This valuable Rolex Series has boiled down to a battle between some of the DP World Tour's best and, with no one player able to separate himself at the top of the Abu Dhabi leaderboard, a final-round shootout is in the offing.

Lowry, the 2019 Abu Dhabi champion at Abu Dhabi GC, deserves to be favourite but punters who have backed Lee ante-post should be happy with their position, particularly if the Aussie can reproduce his third-round tee-to-green display.

Molinari, clearly galvanised by the chance to represent Italy in a Rome Ryder Cup in September, is playing as well as he has for some time. All three have obvious claims but there is scope for one of the chasing pack to quickly overhaul the leaders.

Of those nestled just behind, Victor Perez looks among the most likely to come to the fore at some stage.

The Frenchman, another links champion at the 2019 Dunhill Links, was slow out the traps on Thursday but Friday and Saturday rounds of 65-68 have put him firmly in the title picture.

Perez has driven the ball superbly in Abu Dhabi and he looks set to make his present felt. He can be backed to beat Grant Forrest and Sebastian Soderberg in the penultimate threeball (7.39am).

Forrest was brilliant in round three having driven the ball poorly over the first two days but there are no guarantees that he will continue in that vein, while Soderberg is unlikely to gain 4.5 strokes on the field with the putter again, as was the case on Saturday.

It's not quite happened for Seamus Power on his Abu Dhabi debut but the impressive Irishman, clearly intent on playing more DP World Tour events to put himself in the Ryder Cup picture, can at least seal a top-20 finish.

Power is 26th heading into the final round but his tee-to-green game has been excellent and any improvement with the putter should see him climb the leaderboard.
