Africa's Fastest Man Ferdinand Omanyala is on a Sprint Mission for Kenya

Ferdinand Omanyala is Africa's fastest man and is heading to the World Athletics Championships in Eugene, Oregon. He is aiming to reach the final on July 16. O manyala's season-best 100m time is 9:85. His African record is set at 9.77. He's the third fastest in the world this season behind Fred Kerley and Trayvon Bromell.

Ferdinand Omanyala is preparing for a sprint competition in Oregon. He will be competing against Marcell Jacobs and Christian Coleman. O manyala beat Kerley in May. His coach wants to make sprinting more popular in Kenya. He became the first Kenyan sprinter to reach an Olympic semi-final at the Tokyo Games last year.

O manyala was suspended for 14 months in 2017 by the Anti-Doping Agency of Kenya after testing positive for a banned substance. He hopes to be a role model for other Kenyan youngsters.
