Gunners firing on all cylinders

With Liverpool and Manchester City not playing each other until tomorrow, Arsenal can go top of the Premier League by beating Brentford tonight.

A lot of the attention has been on the Reds and the Light Blues in the title race – but the Gunners have hit top gear at the perfect time.

Mikel Arteta’s side have won their previous seven in the Premier League, scoring 31 goals in the process.

The Bees, at the opposite end of the table, are firmly in the relegation fight with five defeats in their previous seven, conceding four against West Ham United and Liverpool, and three against Tottenham Hotspur and Manchester City.

So the signs point to another Brentford defeat, and Arsenal have shown they have the attacking quality to sting.

Over 3.5 goals has landed in the Gunners’ past five league games as well as five of the Bees’ previous seven, so we are expecting another high-scoring match at the Emirates.

Real test for Reguilon

Spanish defender Sergio Reguilon has only started 10 Premier League games this season for Manchester United and Brentford but he has been shown five yellow cards.

Two of those have come in his past four appearances for the Bees, including their last away game when they lost 4-2 at West Ham.

The Tottenham loanee, who has been operating as a left wing-back in Brentford’s back five, will be in for a busy time at Arsenal.

Bukayo Saka will be Reguilon’s direct opponent at the Emirates. Only three other Premier League players have drawn more fouls than the No 7.

Just under three years ago Reguilon, a product of the Real Madrid youth academy, was shown a yellow card for a foul on Saka in a north London derby at the Emirates.

Gunners dominant in bet builder

One man who did score at Bramall Lane was Declan Rice, who now has two goals in his previous four Premier League appearances.

The England international midfielder had three shots against the bottom side and has had at least one effort on goal in three of his past four domestic games.
