Atlanta Braves News: Dylan Cease rumors, bullpen turnover, more

The Braves are reportedly among the major suitors for Dylan Cease, who reportedly could be traded as soon as this week. Cease is a Georgia native but is represented by Scott Boras, so it’s unclear what the probability of working out an Anthopoulous Special (TM) Extension would be if the Braves were to trade for the pitcher, but he does have two years of arbitration left regardless. The prospect cost wouldn’t be cheap, but the Braves do have some options like Vaughn Grissom without an obvious spot at the major league level. Cease has been quite durable, making 32+ starts over the last three seasons and anywhere from good to great in those three seasons. He would be a potent addition to the Braves’ rotation for at least two years. I would definitely want to know what the odds would be for signing Cease to an extension, but he is definitely a player that would make the Braves significantly better, based on his last three seasons.
