  1. We're bringing a close to today's live-text coverage.

Friday marks men's semi-finals day, so we're in for a cracker!

From 03:30 GMT, we'll bring you every ball as Greek third seed Stefanos Tsitsipas takes on Russian Karen Khachanov in the first semi-final, before nine-time champion Novak Djokovic faces unseeded American Tommy Paul from 08:30.

In the wheelchair doubles, Britain's Alfie Hewett and Gordon Reid go for their fourth successive title, taking on Dutch duo Maikel Scheffers and Ruben Spaargaren from around 03:00.

  2. Wimbledon champion Elena Rybakina has another shot at a major title after reaching the Australian Open final where she will meet Belarusian fifth seed Aryna Sabalenka.

Rybakina, 23, won 7-6 (7-4) 6-3 against Victoria Azarenka, ending the two-time champion's hopes of winning the title 10 years after her last triumph.

Sabalenka beat Poland's Magda Linette 7-6 (7-1) 6-2 to reach her first major final.

Elsewhere, Britain's Alfie Hewett will contest two Australian Open finals after winning his semi-finals in both the wheelchair singles and doubles.

Hewett, the world number one in singles, defeated Japan's Takuya Miki 6-1 6-1 to reach his third successive singles final in Melbourne.

He and fellow Briton Gordon Reid then beat Daisuke Arai and Takashi Sanada, also of Japan, 6-4 6-4 in the doubles.

  3. "Being in a final at this kind of tournament is amazing, to feel this atmosphere, to play on this court.

"That was a great experience for me and I hope its going to help me on Saturday."

On playing Elena Rybakina in the final:

"She's an amazing player, she's playing great tennis, super aggressive, and she's already got one Grand Slam so she has the experience of playing in a final.

"It's going to be a great final, I'm really looking forward to it."

  4. Aryna Sabalenka after reaching her first Grand Slam final:

"I'm super happy that I was able to get this win, she's an unbelievable player, she played really great tennis.

"I didn't start really well and then in the tie-break I found my rhythm, started trusting myself, starting going for the shots. It was great tennis from me on the tie-break.

"I actually felt like I hit really slow balls today but I've got good genetics I guess."

  5. David Law

You have got two players who hit the ball so hard in the final and it's going to be really interesting to see which one of them manages that.

When you have big hitters playing each other you get a bit of an error-fest but they are in such good form.

  6. Sabalenka had lost her previous three Grand Slam semi-finals before this match.

She began today full of nerves as she was broken in the opening game.

There are no nerves now as she makes the crowd laugh during her interview on Rod Laver Arena.

    Full quotes coming up.

  7. Annabel Croft

Former British number one on BBC Radio 5 Sports Extra

You have to admire how she came through this match. All the pressure was on her shoulders and it is not easy to come out and execute against someone who is solid and makes you get a lot of balls.

There were a lot of edgy moments - but she came through them. She will go into the final with a lot of confidence.

  8. David Law

Finally Sabalenka is where she always wanted to be - into a Grand Slams singles final.

Nerves of steel at the end.

  9. Wins it with a another powerful forehand.

Aryna Sabalenka has finally made it to a Grand Slam final. Pure power from the Belarusian.

  10. Just what the doctor ordered. Ace and a fourth match point. 40-30.

  11. Into the net. 30-30.

    "Let's go Magda, let's go."

  12. Winner at the net from the Belarusian. 30-15.

The crowd still cheer for the underdog.

  13. Sabelenka gets some luck as her latest backhand clips the net and dribbles over on to her opponent's side.

But a double-fault next up takes us to 15-15.

  14. David Law

Three match points have come and gone, and now Sabalenka has to sit through a changeover - and think about it.

  15. Sabalenka will have to serve for the match as Linette gets out of her service game, forcing the fifth seed into an error on the stretch.

    Linette's dream continues, for now.

  16. She is. Sabalenka nets. Game point Linette.

  17. Annabel Croft

Former British number one on BBC Radio 5 Sports Extra

Linette is going to make Sabalenka earn this!

  18. Saved again. This time Sabalenka is forced out wide and her forehand on the stretch drops out.

  19. Linette nets. A third match point.
