Texas Motor Speedway

Fort Worth, TX

NASCAR has officially finished the first round of the playoffs and we're into the second round now. This next race at Texas Motor Speedway is going to be a pivotal race and start one of the drivers off on the right foot heading into the finale of the season. While some might fall to the pressure, Tyler Reddick finds himself in a good spot. He's been on quite the roll so far in these playoffs, and he'll be looking for that automatic birth into the round of 8 with a win this weekend. One thing to consider is that Reddick was the winner the last time NASCAR visited Fort Worth, which means he should have a pretty good chance of doing it again and getting himself a little closer to hoisting the cup. The middle of summer wasn't the best time for Reddick on the track, but he's been a lot better as of late and should be one of the favorites in this one.

Another driver to watch out for is William Byron. He's done well at tracks that are similar to Texas Motor Speedway including winning at Atlanta and finishing as the runner-up at Charlotte. He also finished in the top-10 at Bristol this past weekend. Now that the points start over, it'll be important for Byron to do well, and he has never won here. That said, he's finishing in the top-10 half of the time and has led 97 laps in his last two races here. He'll be a driver to keep an eye on.

This is the first race in the Round of 12 and should be a good one. This is a 400-mile race with a track that spans 1.5 miles. There are twenty degrees of banking in both Turns 1 & 2, while Turns 3 and 4 offer 24 degrees of banking. The straightaways are five degrees. The last time NASCAR was here was for the All-Star Race. This race has a lot more riding on it so you can expect to see some intense action.

Bass Pro Shops Night Race Recap

In short, Denny Hamlin was able to take home the win last weekend in Bristol and Martin Truex Jr did just enough to get him into the next round. Bubba Wallace was also able to salvage his playoff run by sneaking into the next round by just four points. In this race, Hamlin was able to grab the lead on Lap 366 coming off pit road and beat Kyle Larson by 2.362 seconds. From there on, it was all Hamlin as he led the final 142 laps to secure the win. Hamlin has represented Toyota well and in addition to him, all five Toyota drivers made it to the next round.

NASCAR Playoff Standings

After the Round of 16, we start over once again. It'll be a battle for the top-8 and drivers will be doing what it takes to get there.
