Autumn Meet Offers 26 Stakes In 18 Days
Autumn Meet at Santa Anita offers 26 stakes in 18 days. The first two weekends of the Autumn Meet are dedicated to the Breeders’ Cup. There are three Grade I events on the opening weekend. On the second weekend, the third and fourth weekends, there are six stakes. The stakes schedule for 2022 Autumn meet will include five Breeder's Cup events. It will also include a number of added money events, including the Grade II Eddie D Stakes for 3-year-olds and up.
The opening day of Santa Anita's Autumn Meet is on Friday, September 30. There will be nine races. The first post time is 1 p.m. on that day. On Saturday, October 1, there will also be a ShowVivor online handicapping contest and a Breeders’ Cup Challenge. Sunday, the contest is called "Japan Family Day". There is also a $4,000 Santa. Anita Opening Weekend Challenge and $100 bettors will receive a Santa Monica Polo Shirt.
Flightline is training at The Great Race Place in preparation for the Breeders’ Cup Classic at Keeneland on Nov. 5. Ce Ce is nominated to this Sunday”s Grade III Chillingworth Stakes. Soothsay is a nominee to Sunday's Grade II Zenyatta Stake. Ron McAnally will present a trophy to the winning connections of Saturday“s John Henry Turf Championship.
