Bally's to Stream Minor League Baseball Games via App

Major League Baseball owners have agreed a deal with Bally’s that will see the casino and online gaming operator live stream all minor league baseball games for the coming season.

According to reports, the MLB sold the exclusive broadcasting rights to all 120 minor league teams to Bally’s Corporation for an undisclosed amount. The company plans to stream all games for free through its Bally Live app.

The latest streaming offering to fans is in stark contrast to last season when the MLB charged $29.99 for a season pass to watch all games via the MLB At Bat Live app.

The MLB believes that the deal will bring new fans to the minor leagues. Last season, the At Bat Live app had 40,000 subscribers while Bally’s has 750,000 monthly online players who will have access to the live streams.

According to an MLB presentation, Bally’s will offer free-to-play contests such as ‘Baseball Bingo’ which will offer prizes of Bally’s Rewards points. The rewards points can be used to redeem site credit and possibly place wagers. However, a source told the NY Post that users would not be allowed to bet on minor league games despite the new streaming deal.

The free-to-view games will begin on April 15th, 2023.

The move to live stream games for free is a similar marketing tactic to that currently employed by bet365. The online bookmaker runs a live streaming service that streams every UK and Irish horse race along with European soccer, and major tennis tournaments among other events. Users must create a sports betting account and login before being allowed to view sporting events for free.
