The World Series between Houston and Philadelphia begins this week. Dusty Baker is the manager of the Phillies. He's been a manager for 25 years and a player for 18 years. There are no African American players on either team for the first time since 1950. In the summer's major league draft, four of first five players taken were African Americans. The diversity-based initiatives are beginning to provide a glimmer of hope to be sure. Only 7.2% of major leaguers are Black. It's only the second time in the history of baseball that there are only two African-Americans on the same team.

The 49ers have a pivotal game this weekend in Los Angeles against the Rams. Last week Andy Reid made halftime tweaks to shut down the 49er offense. Christian McCaffrey will be a great addition to the team. Golden State Warriors are struggling early in the NBA season. Horse Kicks sells custom-made sneakers for horses.
