Battle 4 Atlantis, UNC basketball score updates in Bahamas

UNC basketball will play in the third-place game at the Battle 4 Atlantis tournament. 

The 14th-ranked Tar Heels (4-1) dropped their first game of the season in an 83-81 overtime loss to Villanova (5-1), which will play Memphis in Friday's championship game.

Michigan, Stanford and Texas Tech round out the eight-team, 12-game event. UNC and No. 20 Arkansas will play at 1 p.m. on ESPN2 in a top-25 matchup.

The championship game is scheduled for 3:30 p.m. Friday inside Imperial Arena at the Atlantis Paradise Island resort.

In the final seconds of the Tar Heels' loss to Villanova, UNC guard Cormac Ryan appeared to roll his ankle. Ryan previously injured his right ankle in UNC's exhibition game against Saint Augustine's.

UNC basketball loses in double overtime to Eric Dixon, Villanova

In a game that featured 19 ties and 23 lead changes, UNC had several players foul out and Villanova took advantage to win in the bonus period. The Wildcats made 32 free throws and got 34 points from Eric Dixon as three Tar Heels fouled out.

UNC basketball wins vs. Northern Iowa behind strong performance from Harrison Ingram, sets up semifinal with Villanova

After a sluggish first half, UNC basketball experienced smooth sailing in the second half of its 91-69 win against Northern Iowa in the opening game of the Battle 4 Atlantis. The Tar Heels will play Villanova in Thursday's semifinals.
