Beau Greaves told she would win 'plenty' against Tour Card holders by ex-world champ

Darts starlet Beau Greaves has been told she would win 'plenty' of matches against PDC Tour Card holders by former world champion Keith Deller.

Greaves has announced herself as one of darts' hottest prospects over the past year, making a name for herself on the PDC Women's Series. The teenager dominated the end of the 2022 season, winning eight titles on the bounce to wrap up her campaign.

And this scintillating form has been carried through into the new season, as the English star kicked off her 2023 with back-to-back series wins, having won the Event One and Two finals.

This remarkably stretched her unbeaten run to 70 straight matches, with Greaves dominance on the series seemingly unmatched. And following her success in the women's game she has also been backed to enjoy similar on the men's tour.

During a Q&A with Sky Sports Darts on Twitter, 1983 world champion Deller was asked how Greaves would fare against the 128 players who hold a PDC Tour Card. In response the 63-year-old gave a gleaming prediction for the young star, tweeting: "[She] would win plenty of games.

Greaves has already made her mark on the men's game, after her end of year success on the women's series saw her earn a place in the world championship. Her dominance on the women's series finally came to an end last weekend, as rival Mikuru Suzuki ended her 70-game winning streak in Event Three.

Afterwards, Greaves remarkably admitted she was 'thankful' to lose, with the 19-year-old keen to 'start afresh'. Per Sky Sports, she said: "Ten tournaments in a row has been brilliant but I'm glad it's over. It's hard not to think about it, you are waiting to lose but it's history now.

"I really struggled with everything today, with the way I'm throwing [the dart] and I've not focused on all the stuff I should be focusing on. To be fair to Mikuru, I was actually thankful to lose - in the long term it will do me a load of good. I'm happy that I can start afresh now.

"I've had some really good games, I played steady today but in some games I was really good and confident and in others I just lacked it a bit."

And start afresh she did, as she soon returned to winnings ways. Putting her rare loss behind her the 19-year-old bounced back in fashion as she claimed victory in Event Four to win 11 of the last 12 women's series titles.
