SUNSPORT tipster James Anderson takes a closer look at this weekend's sporting action, bringing you his best bets, top tips and a special 9/1 accumulator.

This weekend's betting bonanza includes selections from Chelsea vs Manchester City at Stamford Bridge, the Premier League and the best of the action from the Championship.

Chelsea welcome champions Manchester City to Stamford Bridge for Sunday's showdown.

And there's really no surprise in seeing the Cityzens priced as 8/11 odds-on favourites to head back up the M6 with maximum points.

It's clicked for Pep Guardiola's side. And it's a big problem for the rest of the Premier League when that happens.

Following a sticky patch, City have won their last five-consecutive matches in all competitions, scoring 17 goals in the process. They've netted 3+ goals in their last four and registered two clean sheets.

Chelsea were the victors in their bizarre clash with Tottenham, but came away earning less credit than their opponents having struggled to break down the nine men of Spurs.

Mauricio Pochettino's side are far from the finished article as seen with home defeats to Brentford and Aston Villa. They've also suffered six-straight losses to Manchester City since their Champions League success in 2021.

It's no secret that City's revival is in no small part attributed to the return of Rodri. The metronomic midfielder is the lynchpin for the treble-winners and everything goes through him.

Rodri has attempted 277 passes in his last 251 minutes of action, and he's attempted 924 throughout the league campaign - giving him an average of around 100 passes per game.

Rodri is available at 6/5 to attempt 90 or more passes this weekend, and just to clarify, those passes don't have to be successful - even though they usually are.

Cardiff followed wins over Huddersfield and Bristol City with a credible draw at Stoke -- keeping clean sheets in all three. They've won five of their first seven home league games of the season, scoring 13 goals and conceding just six.

Norwich, meanwhile, are in complete chaos after losing EIGHT of their last 10 games in all competitions. David Wagner's tenure is hanging by a thread and this will likely be the final straw with the Bluebirds collecting maximum points.

Few have shown better form than Wigan lately. Actually only Portsmouth have with the Latics taking 12 points from a possible 15 in their last five outings.

Yes, Cheltenham have shown signs of life after a disastrous start, but Shaun Maloney's side should have enough firepower to beat their opponents, who've taken just four points at home.

I doubt we'll see runaway leaders Leicester at a better price this season. The Foxes, who've won 13 of their 15 league matches, are 13/10 to get the win at Michael Carrick's Middlesbrough.

The visitors have taken a maximum 21 points on the road, and should be able to extend that tally against a Boro side who've taken more points away from the Riverside Stadium.

Abdoulaye Doucoure is loving life under Sean Dyche. The 30-year-old is the lynchpin of this Everton side, and recently put pen to paper on a new contract at Goodison Park.

He's operating in an advanced role for the Toffees, playing the majority of games as a second striker and attacking midfielder. As such, Doucoure has fired off more attempts on goal than any of his colleagues.

He's had 19 attempts in 946 minutes of league action, including eight big chances and DOUBLE the number of efforts on target (12) than the likes of Dominic Calvert-Lewin and Dwight McNeil. He's a threat at set-pieces, and only Brentford have a higher xG from set plays. Everton are also ranked ninth for xG in open play.

Yes, it's a longshot - but I really don't think that this is beyond the realms of possibility.

The hosts are expected to score a handful of goals and dominate possession against struggling Burnley on Saturday. The Clarets arrive with the second-worst defensive record in the division, and they're up against a side who've scored the most set-pieces (6) and had 40 efforts direct from corners.

Kai Havertz has scored three goals in two appearances against Burnley, and two of those were headers. He's also registered nine efforts from inside the box in 665 minutes of action.
