The Magpies have lost eight of their last nine games against the champions, including a 1-0 loss earlier this season at the Etihad.

The lesser-spotted Kalvin Phillips took to the field over the weekend following Rodri's sending off. And the England international might just get more minutes on Wednesday in his absence - especially of Kovacic isn't available.
Phillips committed one foul against Forest, and will have to contend with Newcastle's all-action midfield with precious little competitive minutes in his legs.
