Best NBA player prop bets today: Jalen Brunson, Donovan MItchell highlight Thursday, February 1

Thursday night features a minimal four-game slate in the NBA, but the games themselves are good and the value betting opportunities are plentiful. As we do every day of the week, we're taking to BetMGM and uncovering the best NBA player props of the evening, highlighting the top-value wagers and can't-miss odds so you can head into the weekend in style.

Tonight's all about quality over quantity. In what should be a high-scoring affair, Tyrese Haliburton's high-flying Pacers face Jalen Brunson and the Knicks at Madison Square Garden (7:30 p.m. ET). Meanwhile, LeBron James' Lakers clash` with Jayson Tatum and the age-old rival Celtics in Boston (7:30). Then at 8:00, the red-hot Cavaliers visit the Grizzlies in Memphis.

In the late window, we'll see reigning MVP Joel Embiid and the 76ers take on a scrappy Jazz team in Salt Lake City (10:00). After a six-game winning streak, Philadelphia (29-17) has dropped four in a row and fallen to fifth in the Eastern Conference — so something tells us these Sixers will be running hot this evening.

We've got a solid night of NBA hoops ahead of us, and we're eager to get some props in. We've been crushing our best bets, top props and Prop-A-Shot series all season, going a collective 68-47 with our betting recommendations. That's a winning percentage of nearly .590, a number we're elevating as the season progresses.

Best NBA prop bets today: Thursday, February 1

Jalen Brunson points — OVER 23.5 (-105)

Brunson has demonstrated for the casuals that he deserves to be an All-Star, and we maintain that he should have been last season as well. The Knicks have won a whopping eight consecutive games and nine of their past 10 and the Brunson Burner has his fingerprints all over that run of success.

Expect more of the same this evening against the Pacers, who regularly allow teams to enjoy scoring bonanzas. The Celtics scored a franchise-record 85 points in the first half against Indy the other night, and that was before Pacers star Tyrese Haliburton hit his minutes restriction and had to be pulled from the game.

With Julius Randle out for at least the next couple weeks due to a dislocated shoulder, Brunson should continue attempting 22-25 shots like he has in three consecutive games and six of the past seven. He averaged 28.9 points per game in the month of January, and there's no way we're betting against this dude for the foreseeable future.

Donovan Mitchell three-pointers — OVER 2.5 three-pointers (-105)

The Cavs have won 10 of their past 11 games, and Mitchell has been the main catalyst during that stretch. During that span, he has hit 35 three-pointers on a whopping 104 attempts. And Cleveland isn't just beating teams — this squad has been blowing the doors off its opponents. The Cavs' average margin of victory in its past 10 wins is 20.2.

Now J.B. Bickerstaff and his boys get to travel to Memphis to face an 18-29 Grizzlies team that has somehow been worse at home (5-16) and can't get out of its own way defensively. Memphis allows opponents to average 13.2 made triples on 37.9 percent shooting, the seventh-highest outside shooting percentage allowed in the NBA. Smash the OVER here.

Tobias Harris points — OVER 1.5 three-pointers (-115)

The Sixers have lost four games in a row, and Philly fans are starting to get concerned. Reigning MVP Joel Embiid has already been ruled out for this one, so Nick Nurse will need Tobias Harris to step up in a major way this evening.

Harris has looked great over the past five games he has played and Embiid has not. Most recently, he dropped 32 points and 37 points, respectively, against Atlanta and Sacramento while JoJo was sidelined. His shooting touch has been on point, knocking down multiple treys in four of his past eight games.

The Jazz have allowed 14.1 three-pointers per game (third-most in the NBA) on 38 percent shooting from downtown (sixth-highest), so Harris should be able to smash this OVER by the end of the third frame in what Sixers fans would probably call a must-win game.
