Best NBA prop bets today for Timberwolves vs. Nuggets Game 2 (Does KAT bounce back?)

There’s nothing better than betting some NBA props during the playoffs, as consecutive matchups against the same team allow for it to be easier to bet on certain players.

The Denver Nuggets and Minnesota Timberwolves played four times in the regular season, and now they’re playing Game 2 of their first-round series on Wednesday night. Denver dominated Game 1, riding a 32-point third quarter to a win.

I have three props that I like in this game, including one for Jamal Murray that I recommended in Game 1 that hit for us.

Let’s break down why he can do it again:

Timberwolves vs. Nuggets best NBA prop bets

  • Jamal Murray OVER 2.5 3-Pointers Made
  • Karl Anthony-Towns OVER 20.5 Points
  • Kentavious Caldwell-Pope OVER 1.5 3-Pointers Made

Jamal Murray OVER 2.5 3-Pointers Made

Jamal Murray came alive in the second half in Game 1 after missing his first five shots of the game, finishing with four made shots from deep and 24 points to go with eight rebounds and eight dimes.

It was a terrific all-around game for Jamal, and he continued shooting the ball at a high rate from 3.

Over his final 20 regular season games, Murray took 8.0 3s per game, averaging 3.2 makes per game (40.3 percent).

After taking 10 shots from 3 in Game 1, I love Murray to find the bottom of the net three times in Game 2.

Karl Anthony-Towns OVER 20.5 Points

This number has dropped significantly for Towns, who shot just 5-for-15 in Game 1 and finished with 11 points.

He was set at 23.5 points in Game 1, but the Nuggets did a solid job defending him. I don’t expect Towns to struggle as much in Game 2 after getting a look at Denver’s defense on him in this series.

KAT was an uncharacteristic 1-for-7 from 3-point range in Game 1, and the Wolves know they need him to get going to have any chance to win this series. I expect a big bounce-back performance on Wednesday night.

Kentavious Caldwell-Pope OVER 1.5 3-Pointers Made

Kentavious Caldwell-Pope made 3-of-6 shots from beyond the arc in Game 1 of this series, and he’s been lights out from 3 all season.

KCP is averaging 1.8 made 3s per game in the 2022-23 campaign on 4.2 attempts, hitting at a 42.3 percent clip from deep.

The key for him will be volume to clear this prop, but the Wolves are very susceptible to giving up open 3s. This season, Minnesota has allowed opponents to shoot 36.9 percent from 3, which is 24th in the NBa.

With the Wolves focused on slowing down Murray, Nikola Jokic and Michael Porter Jr., KCP could be the player that benefits in Game 2.
