Best NHL Parlays Today: Picks, Predictions for Canucks vs. Rangers

The Vancouver Canucks have been skidding down the highway, and they’re tasked with a tough matchup against the rolling New York Rangers at Madison Square Garden on Wednesday. Neil Parker is counting on the Blueshirts taking care of business – and shares his same game parlay for the matchup using the latest NHL odds.

The Vancouver brass have shuffled the deck by firing head coach Bruce Boudreau and trading away captain – and leading-goal-scorer – Bo Horvat in the span of just eight days.

Facing the Rangers short your best trump card doesn’t instill optimism in me, and I’ve lined up multiple correlated legs in a same game parlay to capitalize on New York’s favorable matchup.

Here are our NHL SGP picks for Wednesday (odds via bet365).

Canucks vs. Rangers odds

NHL SGP predictions: Canucks vs. Rangers

Rangers in regulation (-145)

New York is in the midst of a two-month heater with a 17-4-3 record and a 57.4% goals for rate at five-on-five when adjusted for score and venue (good for sixth in the league). Even better, No. 1 netminder Igor Shesterkin is rocking a .922 save percentage during the stretch, and he’s well rested following his first trip to All-Star weekend.

Rangers to win most periods (-135)

This is a correlated play to the Rangers winning in regulation. Vancouver enters with an active 1-7-1 road record, and the lineup took a major blow with Horvat traded to the New York Islanders last week. The Canucks are now thin down the middle, and that will hurt them in this one.

Rangers first to two goals (-190)

After the Rangers allowed the Calgary Flames to put four on the board during Monday’s 5-4 overtime win, I’m expecting head coach Gerard Gallant to have Blueshirts prepared to limit Vancouver’s opportunities Wednesday. In fact, with Shesterkin in net, the Canucks might be hard pressed to even score twice.

Mika Zibanejad Over 3.5 shots (+120)

Zibanejad is coming off an eight-shot, 11-attempt showing against the Flames, and he leads the Rangers in each category both overall and per 60 minutes this season. Vancouver just allowed a combined 12 shots and 19 attempts to New Jersey Devils centers Jack Hughes and Nico Hischier, too.

Mika Zibanejad Over 0.5 points (-250)

Vancouver has surrendered a healthy 3.55 goals per 60 minutes at five-on-five during the noted nine-game road stretch, so I’m expecting the Rangers to build off Monday’s five-goal showing. Zibanejad logs top offensive minutes, and he’s projected to continue skating with uber-talented winger Artemi Panarin again Wednesday.

Artemi Panarin Over 0.5 points (-240)

Panarin has been flanking Zibanejad consistently of late, and the duo combined for two goals and three assists during Monday’s win. There should also be plenty of favorable five-on-five matchups Wednesday because Horvat would have been tasked with lining up opposite Zibanejad and Panarin for a considerable chunk of this contest.
