Best TD Scorer Prop Bets For Dolphins-Chargers Sunday Night Football

The Schedule Gods whiffed when they drew up Week 14 of the season. Now, the Gods usually leave us awestruck – see Thanksgiving Day and Night – but they are not perfect. That’s why the NFL allows the flex option for games in December and beyond.

This week, the original schedule had the Broncos playing host to the Chiefs on Sunday night. Any why not? Russell Wilson and the refurbished Broncos were heading to face off with division power Kansas City. An old-school AFC West clash with some new faces. The Chiefs are 9-3 and can clinch their seventh-straight divisional crown with a win or tie. But the Broncos are 3-9, averaging just over 13 points per game and have already been eliminated from AFC West consideration.

The NFL opted to move that dog into purgatory. That being the late CBS regional alternate game. The Shield slid the Miami Dolphins-LA Chargers game into the primetime slot.

Nether the Dolphins nor Chargers are divisional leaders. But they are entertaining to watch when healthy. Tua Tagovailoa has only lost one start this season. That was last week to the best-defense-in-the-NFL 49ers. He won’t be facing anything close in the Chargers.

Chargers QB Justin Herbert and Tagovailoa are about as evenly matched as one can get at the position – at least during their careers so far. Both were taken in the QB-laden 2020 NFL Draft. Tua went fifth. Herbert sixth. Herbert boasts a career passer rating of 96.3 while Tua’s sits at 96.2.

The road Dolphins are 3.5-point favorites at with a -180 moneyline. The home underdog Chargers are +155 and the total is a whopping 52.5 points. And that might be an understatement.

Best TD Scorer Prop Bets For Dolphins-Chargers

With all those potential points on the board, here are our best TD scorer prop bets on for the Dolphins-Chargers game on Sunday night. Kickoff is scheduled for 8:20 p.m. ET on NBC.

Jaylen Waddle

Anytime TD:

1 Overall TD Odds:

The last time the Dolphins played indoors (against Detroit), Tua threw for 3 TDs and the Dolphins scored 31 points against the Lions. The crowd at SoFi will be mixed, at best. These are ideal conditions for a receiver with Jaylen Waddle’s speed, especially with the Chargers tilting their coverage toward Tyreek Hill - at least early. Look for Waddle and the Dolphins to strike first against a surprisingly-friendly crowd in Inglewood.

Raheem Mostert, Anytime TD

Odds:

There are seven players in this game whose anytime TD odds are at or above +130 with DraftKings. That’s crazy. Raheem Mostert has scored twice in his past three games. The Dolphins will have lots of options in the Red Zone. Mostert given them a steady hand and a solid chance to score without risking an INT close, especially if the Chargers are spying on Tua. Mostert is a solid bet to find the end zone against LA.

Keenan Allen Anytime TD

Odds:

We have to take what’s available at the price. The Dolphins have given up 32.8 PPG on the road. So there’s opportunity aplenty for the Bolts. Keenan Allen has scored in his past two games and is working his way back into Herbert’s rotation. He was targeted 14 times last week against the Raiders and had six catches. Allen has one TD in his five starts against Miami. He should add to that TD total on Sunday night.

Tyreek Hill, Anytime TD & Dolphins Win

Odds:

We wanted to find some realistic play of value and this one appears to be it. Look for Hill to embrace the national spotlight like he usually does. We like the Dolphins and it’s nearly impossible to see them winning without Hill scoring, at least once. Back Hill and the Dolphins nabbing a big road win at SoFi.
