How to bet on the moneyline and spread
Looking to bet on the Fighting Irish versus Tar Heels game but don't know where to start? Consider some of the most common betting types, such as the moneyline, spread, and over/under. A moneyline bet, such as the Fighting Irish (+230) in this matchup, means that you think the Fighting Irish will win, simple as that! And if they do, and you bet $10, you'd get $33.00 back.
Spread betting, like betting on the Fighting Irish at +6.5, is a little more complicated. However, in certain circumstances, it can provide a bigger payout or a more realistic chance of winning your bet. In this case, the +6.5 means that the Fighting Irish must either pick up the win, tie, or lose by no more than six points to "cover the spread." If the Tar Heels win by at least seven points, though, they will "cover" the spread, making them the correct pick.
Other bets you can make
A simpler way to bet is to wager on a game's over/under (or point total). All you have to do is pick whether you think the combined score of both teams will be higher or lower than the set "total" at the end of the contest. It's that simple. As an example, let's say you bet $10 on the over (with odds of -115). If you pick correctly, you'd get back $19.
