How to bet on the moneyline and spread

A moneyline bet means that you think one of the teams -- for example, the Eagles (-125) -- will win the contest. Pretty simple. If you bet $10 on the Eagles to take down the Chiefs with those odds, and the Eagles emerge with the victory, you'd get back $18.00.
It can be a tad more complicated, but betting against the point spread can somethimes provide a bigger payout in certain circumstances. If the Eagles, for example, are -1.5 on the spread, the -1.5 means that they must win by at least two points to "cover the spread." If they don't win by enough points, tie, or lose outright, then the Chiefs will "cover" the spread, making them the winning side of the bet.

Betting on the over/under, or point total, is a much easier way to bet. Just pick whether you think the combined score of both teams will be above or below a particular number at the end of the contest. Let's say you bet $10 on the over, with odds of -110. You'd get back $19 if you pick correctly.
