How to bet on the moneyline and spread

Have the desire to put money on the Huskies' game versus the Razorbacks but aren't sure where to begin? We're here to assist you. Wagering on the moneyline, spread, and over/under are three of the most common ways to make bets. A moneyline bet means that you think one of the teams -- for instance, the Huskies (-185) -- will win the contest. Pretty simple. If you bet $10 on the Huskies to beat the Razorbacks with those odds, and the Huskies emerge with the victory, you'd get back $15.41.

Betting against the spread can be a little more complicated, but in certain circumstances, it can offer a bigger payout. For instance, if the Huskies are listed at -3.5 in this game, the -3.5 means that, to "cover the spread," they must win by at least four points. If, however, the Huskies fail to win by at least four points, then the Razorbacks will "cover" the spread and be the winning side of the bet.

Other bets you can make

A simpler way to bet is to wager on a game's over/under (or point total). All you have to do is pick whether you believe the combined score of both teams will be higher or lower than the set "total" at the end of the game. It's that simple. As an example, let's say you bet $10 on the over (with odds of -105). If you pick correctly, you'd get back $20.

Plus, there are lots of other ways to bet, like game props (will UConn make it to 10 points first?), parlays (combining picks from multiple games to multiply your winnings), and more. For more details on the many different ways you can play, check out the BetMGM website and app.
