bet365’s 6 Horses Challenge celebrates big winners ahead of Glorious Goodwood 2023

Glorious Goodwood is one of the highlights of the British flat racing season, with some of the world's best horses competing across five days, and customers can watch it LIVE with bet365

Like the Cheltenham Festival in March, Glorious Goodwood captures the imagination of racing fans, and viewers can watch 36 races across the five days of action.

For one week in the summer, Goodwood Racecourse is the central attraction within British racing, and many of Europe's biggest trainers make the trip to West Sussex to try and land one of the prize races.

When is Glorious Goodwood 2023?

Glorious Goodwood usually takes place at Goodwood Racecourse, in Chichester, West Sussex, in late July or early August. The festival always starts on a Tuesday and runs through until Saturday, with some world-class racing on show throughout the week.

Fans in Britain can watch the meeting at the home to three of the UK's 36 annual Group 1 Flat races, the Sussex Stakes, the Goodwood Cup and the Nassau Stakes on the bet365 Sports Live Streaming platform, ITV Racing and Racing TV across all five days.

What are the key races at Glorious Goodwood?

On day one, the spotlight will shine on The Goodwood Cup, which is one of the oldest and most prestigious horse races in the world.

As a Group 1 contest, it always attracts some of the best equine athletes in the sport.

Wednesday's action is topped by the Group 1 Sussex Stakes, while the prestigious Group 1 Nassau Stakes follows 24 hours later.

On Friday, those in attendance celebrate the world's best horses and jockeys on King George's Day.

Day four features the Group 2 King George Stakes, known as one of the fastest races on the racing calendar.

The meeting comes to a conclusion on the fifth and final day, with the Stewards Cup the last high-profile race of the week.

Glorious Goodwood 2023 - Day One

The meeting kicks off in style with two Group 2 races on the agenda in the Vintage Stakes and Lennox Stakes.

Tuesday's highlight is the Goodwood Cup, which was won by Ascot Gold Cup winner Kyprios. It allows flat stayers to prove their stamina in one of the toughest races on the calendar. Gregory is the favourite at 7/4, with Coltrane likely to be front and centre too priced at 11/4. Courage Mon Ami will be firmly in the mix at 5/1 odds to win also.

Glorious Goodwood 2023 - Day Two

Although there are no Group 2 races to look forward to, the Oak Tree Stakes and Molecomb Stakes, both Group 3 contests, will provide plenty of entertainment on day two.

The biggest race of the week will also take place on Wednesday, with some of the world's best horses competing in the Sussex Stakes.

This is the first elite-level open race over a mile, which will allow three-year-olds to compete with older rivals. Paddington is a sturdy favourite at 8/15, with Inspiral and Nostrum both at 4/1 to challenge for the win. Modern Games finished fourth at Ascot in June, and will hope for a stronger run this time at 6/1 winning odds.

Glorious Goodwood 2023 - Day Three

Day three, which is the halfway point of Glorious Goodwood, will be another exciting day of action, and three races will take place over one mile, including the Group 1 Nassau Stakes, worth a whopping £600,000.

Blue Rose Chen is the 11/8 Nassau Stakes favourite ahead of Nashwa 5/2 and Soul Sister 4/1. Via Sistina will be looking to bounce back from an average third-place run at Newmarket, and is priced at 8/1.

Glorious Goodwood 2023 - Day Four

Some of the world's fastest sprinters will grab the headlines on day four, as the field will compete for glory in the King George Qatar Stakes.

After three consecutive top-three finishes this year, Highfield Princess is the favourite at 11/8 to hit form and claim a first win of the year. Dramatised and Twilight Calls are both at 7/1, with Equality at 8/1 to finish first.

Glorious Goodwood 2023 - Day Five

A big field will contest the Heritage Handicap in the Stewards' Cup, and trainers will be doing all they can to land one of the biggest races of the week.

The stacked stable of runners sees a top three of Orazio, Saint Lawrence and Tiber Flow all currently at 10/1. Orazio has had back-to-back wins in 2023 at Newmarket then Ascot, and will look to rediscover form after finishing fourth at another Ascot run in June.

Saint Lawrence got the better of Orazio in June at Ascot by winning the race. Although 2023 has seen inconsistent form, coming into this race off the back of a win could see another confident run.

Tiber Flow’s consistency could be key when looking at this one. Four races in 2023, and four top-four finishes in all of them. Results of first and third throughout July may suggest another strong run for the four-year-old.
