Three world light-heavyweight titles are on the line on Saturday night as Anthony Yarde takes to the ring looking to take the belts of Artur Beterbiev at Wembley Arena.

Saturday will be Yarde’s second attempt at challenging for the WBO light-heavyweight title, with the Brit having previously lost to Beterbiev’s Russian compatriot Sergey Kovalev in 2019, where he was stopped in the 11th round in Chelyabinsk in Russia.

The Brit, almost three and a half years after that first loss of his career, now carries a 23-2 record into his latest title bout.

The 31-year-old’s second loss came to Lyndon Arthur by split decision in December 2020, but the two fought again a year later with Yarde coming out on top with a fourth round knockout.

Nicknamed ‘The Beast from the East’, Yarde last fought against Stefani Koykov in Telford just two months ago, knocking out the Bulgarian in the third round.

His opponent on Saturday will be the unified light heavyweight champion Beterbiev, who has held the IBF title since 2017, the WBC since 2019 and the WBO since June last year.

The Russian has won all 18 of his professional fights by knockout or stoppage, his most recent victory coming with a second round TKO against Joe Smith Jr in New York City last summer.

Saturday will be the 38-year-old’s first time defending all three of his world title belts, and is the big favourite to win the bout and extend his record to 19-0.
