Betfred signs multi-year deal to sponsor St Leger Festival
Upping the stakes, Betfred will be sponsoring the St Leger Festival in 2023.

The St Leger horseracing festival takes place every year at Doncaster Racecourse and this year bookmaker Betfred will its sponsor.

This year, the St Leger Festival will take place over a four-day period from Thursday 14 September to Sunday 17 September. Previously the event was sponsored by Cazoo; just like the Epsom Derby and The Oaks, of which Betfred has also since taken over as a new.

British operator Betfred is known for sponsoring multiple UK sports such as: boxing, football, rugby, horseracing, darts and more.

Betfred is the headline sponsor of:  Rugby League, British Masters Golf, Matchroom Boxing and a partner of Manchester United. Not only will Betfred be sponsoring this event, it has signed a multi-year partnership with the St Leger Festival. Having first been run in 1776, the Betfred St Leger is the world's oldest classic.

Betfred Founder Fred Done commented: “To have the Betfred name attached to the St Leger Festival is not just a sponsorship but a privilege.

“I am proud to be associated with the world’s oldest classic which is obviously synonymous with great horses like Triple Crown winner Nijinsky, Dunfermline for the Queen and Oh So Sharp for Sir Henry Cecil.”

Arena Racing Company Chief Executive, Martin Cruddace said: “Fred Done and his team have long been keen supporters of British racing, and the inclusion of this historic race meeting into their sponsorship portfolio is another indication of their commitment to the sport."
