The Grizzlies travel to the Target Center to take on the Timberwolves on NBA TV Friday night. Memphis has been one of the best teams in the Western Conference, streaking out to a 31-17 record and trailing the conference leading Nuggets by just two and a half games.

They’ve been successful getting out in the open floor and using Ja Morant’s explosive talent to create open looks behind the arc, they have four players shooting above 38% from 3 with at least three attempts a game.

Minnesota, meanwhile, has struggled a bit to get any positive momentum this season. Despite the addition of Rudy Gobert, they’ve been underwhelming on the boards, ranking in the bottom third of rebounds allowed per game.

Despite their division-leading record, the Grizzlies have dropped four straight games, with three of those four by fewer than three points. A road win against a subpar Western Conference team could do a lot to steady the ship and give those young guys some more confidence.

It will be a tough task though as Memphis will be without Steven Adams, their leading rebounder. Memphis still has enough talent to get the win, especially given the way Ja has been playing but this is a good opportunity for them to stop the losing streak before it gets out of hand.

Anthony Edwards and De’Angelo Russell will have to step up here for the Wolves to win. Russell has been the team assist leader with Edwards leading the way scoring, but without KAT, Minnesota has a hefty offensive hole.

Memphis opened as a 3.5-point favorite before the line moved half a point in their favor. Ja Morant has been a man on a mission this season and the Timberwolves have struggled a bit defensively, so look for Morant to get out in the open floor and make some impressive plays in the fast break.

Back Memphis on the moneyline here and pair it with a potential under bet here as both teams are missing some offensive components.

For player props, look for Russell to dish out at least seven assists while Gobert cleans up more at least 12 boards or more. Meanwhile, for Memphis, look for Desmond Bane to make at least three 3s in this one as he’s shooting over 42% from behind the arc this season.
