Betting odds for James Harden’s next team don’t favor 76ers

The Philadelphia 76ers’ season came to an anti-climatic end Sunday after the Boston Celtics massacred them in what fans were hoping would be an exciting and competitive Game 7.

Now, they go into another offseason with questions of how to get over the playoff hump, and whether that involves James Harden, who can opt out of his contract this summer in hopes of landing a better deal.

The Sixers have to decide if they want to tie themselves to Harden long-term despite his consistent postseason letdowns, and he has to decide if he wants to return — something that could hinge on who the Sixers hire to replace Doc Rivers at head coach. The list of reported candidates has some heavy hitters.

However, the oddsmakers don’t see his return as the most likely scenario.

At DraftKings, Harden’s old squad in Houston has the best odds to be the team he plays his next regular season minutes for. This comes after ESPN’s Adrian Wojnarowski recently reiterated on Get Up that a Rockets reunion remains a real possibility.

The Sixers have a distant second best odds, followed by the Suns, Clippers and Lakers.
