Betting the Big 12: Week 6

Last weekend I went to Lawrence for an annual tradition of attending a Cyclone road game. Now I want to give a letter grade on a few of the key categories for any trip and then determine if I'd recommend going back.

Accessibility is good in downtown Lawrence. There are many bars, restaurants and shops within a 30-minute walk of the campus and the football stadium.

KU fans were friendly and excited about their team. Iowa State fans hate K-State. KU is the defending national champions. The only reason KSU gets an A is because they poke fun at Bill Self and the FBI probe around the basketball program.

The location of the stadium makes it a little tough for tailgating. It's a good set up for a “home-gate” and walking to the stadiums.

Booth Stadium is worn and needs some upgrades. The accommodation is reasonably priced.

The main drag on Massachusetts Street is a great place to go for nightlife. The drinks were reasonable and the food stops were good.

Iowa State fans should go to Kansas City for a football game. They should also go there for basketball games.

Oklahoma (3-2) and Texas ( 3-3) are playing each other in the Big 12 this week.

#17 TCU (4-0) at #19 Kansas (5-1) is a must-win game for the Big 12.

Kansas is the favorite in the Big 12 game against Oklahoma State.

Oklahoma State is favored to beat Iowa State at 9.5 points. Kansas State has won all four games this season.

Utah is a favorite of 4 points at UCLA.

Giants are favored by 8 points over the Packers. The game is in London.
