Boston College Football: 2022 Eagles Season Preview and Prediction

Christian Mahogany is out for the entire season with a torn ACL. The offensive line will have to give Jurkovec time to get the ball to his receivers. Defensively, BC has the same staff as the past two seasons. Last year, the Eagles ranked third in pass defense, third nationally in passing touchdowns allowed and tied for 27th in opponent completion percentage (57.9). The secondary returns most of its starters, including star nickel Josh DeBerry and strong safety Jaiden Woodbey. Vinny DePalma will likely replace Isaiah Graham-Mobley at middle linebacker. Connor Lytton was called to replace injured placekicker Aaron Boumerhi. Longman and Sam Candotti are competing for punter position.

Boston College's 2022 season starts against Rutgers. They travel to Virginia Tech and Florida State for two of their next three games. If they avoid injury and play to their potential, they could reach the eight-win barrier.
