Kempton 12.45 - Blow Your Wad
The Tom Lacey team have hit some form, and everything looks in place for a big run from BLOW YOUR WAD. The 5-year-old shaped with plenty of potential at Sandown on Chase debut last month, when finishing runner-up to Le Patreon.
That form could have hardly worked out any better, with his conqueror going on to score at Grade 1 level next time out. This on paper, represents much calmer waters, and off 135 in a Handicap, there should be plenty more to come.
Flat tracks and decent ground seem to suit, so I wouldn't be shocked if he upped his game here at a venue in which he already has winning course form from his Hurdling exploits. Stan Sheppard takes the ride, and a bold show can be expected from the Herefordshire raider.
Kempton 1.20 - Giovinco
The strong travelling GIOVINCO hasn't done a lot wrong so far over fences, and I think 3m on a flat track could be absolutely perfect for the Lucinda Russell charge.
The Scottish raider has already shown some smart form over fences and looked the likely winner at Sandown last time out, before being outstayed up the Sandown Hill by Stay Away Fay - an individual who possesses relentless stamina. I see the scenario of this race being spot on for the 6-year-old who moves throughout a race like a class act, and the Sunbury venue ticks a lot of the right boxes.
He is versatile in regards to underfoot requirements, and I can see this small field scenario really suiting. We may only have a potential sextet going to post, but this looks absolutely epic and is one of the races of the Christmas period, with Hermes Allen in the line-up, as well as French superstar, Il Est Francais.
Kempton 2.30 - The Real Whacker
One of the highlights of the National Hunt calendar, the King George has just six runners but is stacked full of high-quality horses who aren't without their flaws. I think the value play is the Patrick Neville trained THE REAL WHACKER, who if getting a bold jumping rhythm at the head of affairs, can pose a big question to his five rivals.
Yes, he ran a stinker at Cheltenham last time out but he probably could have done with a prep run in hindsight and he came back lame in the aftermath after being struck into. The King George is full of question marks for all the protagonists, including Allaho, who has to still prove he is the force of old. Bravemansgame has now gone four races without a win, and Shishkin refused to race last time out.
All in all, I can see Sam Twiston-Davies' mount The Real Whacker bowling along in front and I can see the combination asking plenty of questions of his rivals around the Sunbury venue.
