The 1 1/4-mile Breeders’ Cup Classic at Santa Anita Park in Arcadia, Calif., is scheduled to start at 6:40 p.m. ET, Saturday on NBC.

After a number of scratched entries, a 12-horse field is expected. The 3-1 morning line favorite is trainer Bob Baffert’s bay colt Arabian Knight.

With jockey Flavien Prat aboard, Arabian Knight has drawn pole position No. 12. The colt has notched victories in the Southwest Stakes and Pacific Classic so far this year.

White Abarrio (PP 3) and Ushba Tesoro (PP 8) also are strong contenders, each opening with 4-1 odds.

The rest of the field opened at 10-1 or lower.
