There are two horses with Japanese bloodline, led by Ushba Tesoro (4-1 odds). He’s a six-year-old who has won an amazing $9.2 million over 30 starts. Even though he started his career on turf, he’s won six of seven races since moving over to dirt and won the Dubai World Cup in March. Derma Sotogake is the other Japanese-bred horse in the field.

One underdog to consider is five-year-old Proxy (12-1 odds). He’s part of the Tapit bloodline, and New Jersey fans will remember him for winning the Monmouth Cup in July.

My pick is dull, but it must be Arabian Knight, the favorite. Bob Baffert has won four Breeders Cup Classics, all with a three-year-old, meaning when Baffert points to the Breeders Cup Classic, he usually gets what he wants.

TV coverage starts at 1:30 p.m. on the USA Network and Peacock, with NBC taking over things at 3:30 p.m. through the Classic.
