Brewers vs Blue Jays Predictions

Tonight features a matchup between two teams desperate to return to their winning ways after a brutal stretch in their schedule. We give the Blue Jays a significant advantage because of Manoah and the Brewers' struggles on offense. While they broke out to score seven runs in their season finale against the Giants, they had scored a total of two runs in the first three games. Manoah has struggled, but he will have a great chance to bounce back against a Brewers team he did well against in 2022. We’re happy to give up the runs to roll with the Blue Jays tonight. Take a look at our best MLB sportsbooks before placing your bets.

Milwaukee Brewers Predictions

Things have started to go south in Milwaukee. After beginning with an 18-9 record, the Crew has gone 10-16 since. Their schedule has been difficult, but there are some bad losses during that stretch. That includes their weekend series against the Giants, where they dropped three of the four games. It’s the second time they lost a series to San Fransisco this season, and they also have series losses to Detroit and Colorado. They have not shown that they are close to turning things around, so we think tonight will get ugly.

The Brewers' offense didn’t have high expectations for 2023, but they looked fantastic in the first month of the season. That feels like a long ago, as they have fallen off since. They were especially bad last week, where they hit for a .185 batting average. Milwaukee can hit for power, but they have struggled to get guys on base. This is made worse by the struggles of Willy Adames, who owns a .205 average and a .292 on-base percentage. The shortstop is supposed to be their top bat, and the Brewers’ season may rely on if he can bounce back.

Veteran Julio Teheran (0-1, 1.80 ERA) will make his second start of the season for Milwaukee tonight. Many thought Teheran’s career was over, as he had not played a full season since 2019. Milwaukee added him to their roster and started him last week, and he looked sharp. Teheran went five innings against the Giants, allowing one run on four hits and five strikeouts. It’s been impressive, but he’ll have much more of a challenge tonight. Expect him to struggle against this talented young lineup, leading to a Toronto blowout tonight.

Toronto Blue Jays Predictions

The Blue Jays have established themselves as one of the top teams in the AL, but they're stuck in the best division in baseball. The AL East has all five teams with records over .500, and they have been beating up on each other to start 2023. The Blue Jays are currently last in the AL East and will need to win these non-divisional series to make a run at the playoffs. They’ll do just that tonight against a Brewers team barely staying afloat in a weak NL Central.

The Blue Jays have one of the best young lineups in all of baseball, led by Bo Bichette and Vladimir Guerrero Jr. Both are having fantastic seasons, but Bichette has been the better of the pair. He leads the team in home runs, average, and RBIs. He doesn’t take many walks, but he should have plenty of opportunity to add to his stat totals tonight with Teheran on the mound.

Alek Manoah (1-5, 5.53 ERA) may be having the most disappointing 2023 campaign in the league. The Cy Young candidate regressed in 2023 as he struggles to find his control. He has been hit hard, but he has also shown flashes of the dominance he had last season. We love his chances to do that again tonight against a bad Brewers lineup, leading to a lopsided final score tonight.
