Brighton vs Everton prediction, odds, betting tips and best bets for Premier League match on Monday

A match with implications at both ends of the table takes place at the Amex Stadium on Monday as Brighton host Everton with each club chasing contrasting targets.

Everton are in the thick of the relegation battle, sitting 19th in the table but just a point from safety. A draw with fellow strugglers Leicester City on May 1 was useful but left the Toffees facing even more pressure in their final four matches.

Brighton, meanwhile, are in the thick of a push for European qualification, sitting sixth and a point ahead of Aston Villa immediately behind them. The Seagulls have three games in hand on Tottenham, who are two points above them, and Liverpool, standing seven points ahead of them.

The hosts have never played in major European competition before, and three points here would put them in a commanding position to qualify for the UEFA Europa League or Europa Conference League.

Brighton vs Everton prediction, odds

  • Moneyline lean: Brighton (-275)
  • Handicap lean: Brighton -1.5 (-110)
  • Score prediction: Brighton 2-0 Everton

Even with a significant number of players absent or deployed out of position, Brighton had the better of a strong Manchester United side in a tight game on Thursday, winning courtesy of an extremely late penalty from FIFA World Cup 2022 winner Alexis Mac Allister.

Albion are rightly favourites in a match against opponents who they clobbered on the road in January and seem incapable of keeping the opponent from having multiple quality chances.

Brighton vs Everton: best bet

  • Pick: Correct score band: 1-0, 2-0, 3-0
  • Odds: +190 (BetMGM)
  • Pick: Correct score band: 2-1, 3-1, 4-1
  • Odds: +300 (BetMGM)

Brighton were somewhat open against United, giving up a host of chances during the first half. But it's hard to envisage Everton having as many opportunities; Brighton should win this match, and boosting the odds with a pair of likely correct scores gives us a better chance of profit.

Betting two units here, the return for a 1-0, 2-0, or 3-0 result is a profit of 0.85 units, while Everton finding a goal would net a two-unit return. With three points more important than a spectacular performance for Brighton at this stage, it's hard to see the Seagulls really pouring on the goals once they are ahead by a significant amount, so this should come through as long as Everton don't produce an upset.

Brighton vs Everton prop bet

  • Pick: Karou Mitoma 2+ shots on target
  • Odds: +165 (BetMGM)

Moises Caicedo - usually a central midfielder- played at right full-back against United because of injuries to Joel Veltman and Pascal Gross, but Karou Mitoma proved a devastating force on the opposite flank. Mitoma loves a shot and, while his conversion rate isn't very good, against a struggling defensive side he should have greater success.

Mitoma was frequently Brighton's most advanced player in that game, so expect him to be heavily involved up front again alongside the likes of Mac Allister.
