Betting tips for Leicester vs Brighton: Premier League preview and odds

Brighton and Hove Albion’s 3-0 victory over Liverpool last weekend will give them added confidence when they face Leicester at the King Power Stadium on Saturday (kick-off, 3pm).

The Seagulls have won three of their four Premier League matches since the season resumed and are up to seventh in the table and flourishing under new manager Roberto De Zerbi.

Leicester are 15th, two places and two points above the bottom three, and have lost all four of their matches since the World Cup, failing to score in three of those games.

Seagulls look to the Continent

Brighton will be dreaming of European football after the recent wins over Merseyside rivals Everton and Liverpool that have lifted them to seventh in the Premier League.

The manner of the victories is what has made many sit up and take notice, the Seagulls thumping Everton 4-1 at Goodison Park  before cruising to a 3-0 win over Liverpool at the Amex Stadium.

Leicester have lost their last four matches in the Premier League and have produced some insipid recent home performances, notably in the 3-0 defeat by Newcastle United on Boxing Day.

Brighton won 5-2 when the sides met on the south coast in September and, even without Leandro Trossard, who has joined Arsenal, they have the firepower to win at a decent price on Saturday.

Tip: Brighton to win @ 21/20 with Betfred

Mitoma magic on the cards

Kaoru Mitoma has been a star for Brighton this season and the Japan winger has showcased his ability out wide for the Seagulls in recent weeks.

He has scored in three of his last five Premier League starts and has been a constant attacking threat, with 12 shots in those five matches.

Leicester have conceded the joint fourth-highest number of goals in the whole of the Premier League this season and Mitoma will be licking his lips at the opportunity of going up against their defence.

We’re expecting Brighton to dominate the Foxes this weekend and that can see Mitoma adding to his tally for the season.

Caution for Caicedo

Despite their poor form and league position, Leicester still carry a threat going forward. James Maddison is likely to return from injury for this match and Harvey Barnes is another danger man.

Midfielder Moises Caicedo will be charged with breaking up Leicester’s attacks and he has picked up five yellow cards in 17 Premier League matches – an occupational hazard for the Ecuadorean.

He isn’t shy of committing a foul when his side need to stop a potential counter-attack and we expect Caicedo to attract the referee’s attention and receive another caution.
