Bruins Prospect Pool: An organizational depth chart and tier list

The Boston Bruins began their preseason captain's practices on September 12. Several of the team's veterans returned to the ice for the first time since last May. The team is also training its prospects. Fabian Lysell and John Beecher are former first round picks who are looking to make the leap to NHL.

Oskar Steen, Jack Studnicka and Jack Ahcan are the players who are most likely to start the season in the NHL. Studnika has played in 37 NHL games and has 35 points in 41 games for Providence last season. Ah can play in Boston as a depth player, but he needs to improve his game to be considered a regular player.

Fabian Lysell, John Beecher and Marc McLaughlin are the most intriguing prospects in this tier list. Lysel is a talented forward who will play for Boston this season. Beertcher has no NHL experience yet, but he played nine games for Providence last season and had five points. McLaughin played 11 games last year for the Boston Bruins. He could make his way back up to the NHL level later in the year.

Joona Koppanen, Vinnie Lettieri, Samuel Asselin, Victor Berglund and Kai Wissmann are prospects for the Boston Bruins. They are forwards and defensemen. Kppanens is entering his sixth season with the Bruins organization. Littieri has played in the NHL and the AHL for past few seasons. Asselsin is a success story from the last few years for Providence. Bergund played two years in Sweden and is now back in America. WISSmann played for Eisbaren Berlin last year and for Germany at the IIHF World Championship.

The next five players need a full year in the AHL before they can be considered for a spot on the Boston roster. Jakub Lauko, Georgii Merkulov, Justin Brazeau, D Michael Callahan, G Brandon Bussi are the players who are expected to play for Boston this season. They are: Laukko (22), Merksulova (21), Brazaau (31), Callahan (15), Bussi (3), and Asselin (20).
