Bruins sign Jakub Lauko and Kyle Keyser to two-way deals

The Bruins signed Providence Bruins goaltender Kyle Keyser and forward Jakub Lauko to two-way deals on Wednesday.

Keyser’s contract is one-year and worth $775,000 while Lauko’s is a two-year deal with an annual NHL cap hit of $787,500. It is a two-way contract for the 2023-24 season and a one-way contract for the 2024-25 season.

Lauko split time between Providence and Boston in the 2022-23 season, playing 23 games at the NHL level. The 6-foot-1, 196-pound forward scored four goals and three assists for seven points in that time. He also appeared in 35 games in Providence tallying 10 goals and seven assists for 17 points.

The Prague, Czech Republic native was originally drafted by Boston in the third round of the 2018 NHL Draft.

Keyser had a 2.79 GAA and a .900 save percentage in 24 games with Providence in the 2022-23 season. Keyser and Brandon Bussi have been important in the net for Providence. He spent two games with the Maine Mariners of the ECHL and had a 2.95 GAA and .887 save percentage.

While he does not have NHL experience, The 6-foot-2, 186-pound goaltender served as the third string goaltender in game five of the Bruin’s playoff game against the Florida Panthers. He also spent time on the Bruins’ taxi squad during the 2021-22 season.

The Coral Springs, Florida native was signed by Boston as a free agent in October, 2017.

It was announced on Friday in a press release that the Bruins issued a qualifying offer to Keyser and Lauko, along with Michael DiPietro, Trent Frederic, Marc McLaughlin, Ian Mitchell, Alec Regula, Jeremy Swayman and Reilly Walsh.
