Caesars Sportsbook Promo: Bet Michigan St. and get $1,000 bonus

The NCAA State Farm Champions Classic is tonight, with Michigan State playing Duke and Kansas clashing against Kentucky. Hosted in Chicago, the games feature four of the best teams in college basketball, though some are struggling as the season starts.

No. 9 Duke (1-1) is favorited by a 4-point spread on Caesars Sportsbook over No. 18 (1-1) Michigan State. The Spartans are heading into the game as a revenge match for last year’s loss in the 2022 NCAA tournament.

We’ve got a full betting preview for the matchup, plus the best bets to make tonight. Before we dive in, here are the odds and best bonuses from Caesars Sportsbook.

The Champions Classic was founded in 2011 and has featured the same four teams every year: Michigan State, Duke, Kentucky, and Kansas. The rivalry game between Duke and Michigan State is a Top 25 matchup with a lot of anticipation around it.

The Spartans took a big drop at the start of the season from #4 to #18 after losing to James Madison. They need a bounce-back win tonight to get their season back on track.

They’ve met the Blue Devils four times in the Champions Classic and are 1-3 in the series. Duke is favored again with between 3- and 4-point spreads on most sportsbooks.

Michigan State is off to a slow start with the loss against James Madison and an uninspiring win against the 0-2 Southern Indiana team.

They’ve struggled from beyond the arc, going 1 for 11 from deep in their last game and 1 for 20 in their OT loss in game one. The Spartans defense is #351 in three-point percentage.

They need this win and should consider it a revenge match since Duke beat them in their last meeting.

Michigan State may be looking uneven – but so is Duke. Both teams are 1-1, and the Blue Devils lost on Friday in their home opener. Of course, the loss was to the #3 Arizona Wildcats, who are 3-0, and Duke only lost by five points, 78-73.

With that Arizona game, Duke at least had a chance to show they could hang with a good team even if they didn’t win. They beat Dartmouth 92-54 in their first game of the season. Michigan State’s solitary win was 74-51 over Southern Indiana – still decisive but not as much of a rout.

Unfortunately, we don’t think the Spartans have what it takes (yet) to keep the spread closer than two buckets. Duke is playing deep with Mark Mitchell, Tyrese, Proctors, Kyle Filipowski, and Jeremy Roach, to name a few. With Michigan State hitting just 16-of-56 (28.9%) from downtown.
