Jonathan Huberdeau gave the Flames a 1-0 lead. Josh Anderson equalized for the Habs early in the third period. Chris Tanev blocked a Montreal shot with the side of his head. The game went to overtime. Montreal won 5-3. Calgary won the game 2-1. Montreal had two power plays. They killed off 1:40 of a five-on-three Canadiens power play. Noah Hanifin and Nikita Zadorov took penalties. Tyler Toffoli was called for a high-sticking double-minor in overtime, but the team managed to kill off those penalties and the match went into overtime as well.
