Canterbury strengthen lead at the top

Canterbury's 46-17 win over Northland pushed them to 31 points in the Evens Conference. Auckland suffered their third loss when beaten 15-30 by Waikato. In the Odds conference, Waikkato is on 25 points, Hawke's Bay and Wellington both have 24 points having played seven games, with Bay of Plenty on 22 points.

Canterbury strengthen lead at the top. Tasman lost their locks Quinten Strange and Mahonril Ngakuru within 10 minutes. Conor Garden-Bachop, Sione Halalilo, Xavier Numia and Noah Hotham scored tries for Wellington. William Havili scored a consolation try for Tasman.

Waikato beat Auckland 30-15. Daniel Sinkinson, Tepaea Cook-Savage and Patrick McCurran scored tries. Damian McKenzie kicked three penalties and a conversion. Canterbury beat Northampton to strengthen lead at the top. Auckland had earlier scored two tries, Jordan Trainor and Harry Plummer.

North Harbour beat Bay of Plenty 34-48. North Harbour won the first half. Kurt Eklund scored a hat-trick for BOP. Bryn Gatland scored in his 50th game for North Harbor. Mark Telea scored an outstanding solo try. Cameron Suafoa completed the scoring.

Peniasi Malimali, Jared Page, AJ Alatimu, Cameron Roigard, Siua Maile, Veikoso Poloniati and Ed Fidow try for Counties Manukau. Manawatu score tries from Logan Henry, Brett Cameron, Potu Leavasa and Sam Clarke.

Tasman beat Taranaki 38-27 in their second game of the week. Noah Hotham scored two tries for Tasman. Braden Stewart, Levi Aumua, Kini Naholo, Tomasi Alosio and Logan Crowley scored for Taransaki. Canterbury beat Northampton. Canterbury are now top of New Zealand's rugby league.

Wellington beat Otago 32-26 to strengthen their lead at the top. Josh Timu, Henry Bell, James Lentjes and Xavier Numia scored tries for Otagans. Ruben Love, Thomas Perenara, DuPlessis Kirifi, Xavier Nia, and TJ Perera scored for Wellington.
